As part of Joseph's methods to cheer me up and help me recover from the scars of my relationship, he suggested that we go to the Naval Open House 2010.

I was really looking forward to it, since i really enjoyed the Army Open House in past years.

We met each other at clementi at around 2pm, and took mrt down to expo station. i stopped to eat chicken rice for awhile, then we proceeded to take the shuttle bus that would send us to the naval open house. they did that security scan thing, and the beeper went off nonstop when it was scanning me. The guy asked me if i was wearing a belt and i had to show him my belt -.-"

Anyway, we took a bus down to the naval open house, and it was super slow. I had to rate the bus service as "below average" in a survey given out at the end of the open house.

It was pretty funny though. The moment we "landed on shore", the MCs said something like "WOW, that was a wonderful display done by the navy! All right, so that's all, you can grab your friends and family and come back tomorrow to see the show again!" and we were like "NOO!!!" we just missed the action of the sailors rescuing some captives or something.

We balloted for a ticket for the ship rides on the various cruises. We got nothing though. *disappointment* We had to end up walking through the exhibitions repeatedly as we didnt want to queue up for the ship exploration tours. The shortest queue had an estimated waiting time of one hour. so it was quite meaningless, and we sincerely thought it was pretty boring since they only offered ship rides(which we weren't lucky enough to get tickets for), ship exploration tours(which had queues which were far too long), and exhibitions(which... well, they're just exhibitions. what would you expect.) They also had this family and fun corner, which i thought was quite meaningless. It seemed like they simply hired some "uncle ringo" company to set up game stalls at that corner just to entertain the kids, and some adults as well. it was rather no-link to the day's activities imo. They should change it a little.

We did watch this unarmed combat demonstration, which was rather judo-ish. The officers were caught in various scenarios and had to overcome them with the use of their weapons and fists, and brute strength i guess. The pepper spray one was the funniest. haha.

Another point which i thought was good was that the food stalls the organizers hired sold food at economical prices. There's also a great variety of food as well, from some twist potato to hokkaido ice cream to pie kia and to ramli burger.

We took a bus back to expo at around 5pm, as we thought there was nothing much to do anyway. It was rather disappointing. He decided to go iluma with me, where we met lexus at. Beatmania, taiko, jubeat etc. Typical arcade day. we played ddr as well, but joseph has to do something about his psychomotor -.-" he did feel the strain from taiko and ddr though, thats good. hopefully he wont give up and will try taiko and ddr again!
